Millom Infant School
Every child a learner, we all learn together
Background
In April 2013, the Government announced new funding of £150 million for physical education (PE) and sport. This funding should be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision.
Funding will be allocated to all maintained and state-funded schools with primary phase pupils, including: primary, middle, special and non-maintained special schools, academies and pupil referral units from 1 September 2013.
Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools. We will be held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support pupils' progress and participation in PE and school sport. We are required to publish on-line information about how we have used the additional funding.
PE and Sports Premium at Millom Infants School
The PE and Sport Premium is designed to help children get an active start in life, supporting schools to improve the quality of their PE, sport and physical activity provision so that pupils experience the benefit of regular exercise from an early age. The below documents set out how we have spent this year’s allocation and our aims for next year.
