Millom Infant School

Every child a learner, we all learn together

Free School Meals

During Lockdown we will be distributing food parcels every Monday afternoon.

The parcels will contain a selection of ingredients to help make a meal each day.  A suggested menu and recipe ideas will also be included.

From September 2014, all infant children have received a free school meal provided by the school.  However, school receives grant funding in the form of pupil premium for all children registered for free school meals.  Children are entitled to free meals if their parents are receiving Income Support, Income Based Job Seekers Allowance, an income-related employment and support allowance or Child Tax Credit not exceeding the financial year’s qualifying criteria (but not Working Tax Credit).  If your child is eligible to receive a free school meal then they may also be eligible to receive the clothing grant.  Further information can be obtained from the Education Office or the School Secretary.

All children who currently receive free school meals and clothing grants do not need to apply each year.

  • where possible all parents and guardians should apply online - you will receive an immediate response advising you whether you are eligible or not
  • if you are unable to apply online please contact the free school meals team - telephone: 01228 606060
