Class 2 are enjoying some outdoor learning.

Year 3 pupils from Black Combe School came to visit our playground last week. They had lots of fun and the teachers enjoyed seeing everyone again.

The Daily Mile

 

The Daily Mile is a fantastic initiative which aims to improve the physical, emotional and wellbeing of children regardless of age and circumstances. The Daily Mile is free and simple that involves primary school children walking, running or jogging for 15 minutes every day.

 

We have had a daily mile track installed around the perimeter of the school playground.  We have calculated and 12 laps equates to 1 mile.  There are several activities that can be completed at various stages to make the experience more fun such as hurdles, skipping and hopping.

 

We have registered with the Daily Mile Challenge that will be taking place on 30th April.  The organisation is encouraging as many children as possible to complete the challenge.

Prep work

The prep work has started on our playground. We have power washed the entire area and walls. Repainted the brickwork around the bottom of the buildings. Repainted the pond area and started painting the mural wall.
